I told my pcp that I was following a ketogenic diet to improve brain function, so I got a lecture about that not being a good eating plan and really moderation of all things is best, blah, blah, blah. I was completely fine ignoring her, but she went ahead and did cholesterol labs, and now I’m struggling to just be okay keeping on the same eating plan. My labs were extremely elevated based on the “standard” diet, do I just ignore and continue with what I’m doing? It’s probably worth mentioning that I don’t have hypertension, and my blood glucose is normal too! My A1C has never been above a 6, but most recently was 5.4. I am obese, but no other health risk. Any input would be much appreciated.
