I’m sharing what happened to me last night at dinner because I know more than any otther support in my life, people on here will understand. I own a consulting company with 14 employees and last night was our holiday party. I took my team out first to a candle-making fun event where I had charcuterie boards with some foods I knew I could eat and then to a Mexican restaurant. I did so great making healthy food choices last night that I had planned ahead of time. Of course everyone else was drinking and eating chips and salsa before dinner (I wasn’t). When our food arrived, I got the most keto thing I could find…piece of skirt steak with veggies. When my meal arrived my office assistant LOUDLY looked at my meal and said “I’m sure you’re getting a doggie bag for that, right? That’s a huge amount of food…too much food for you to eat all that” and just kept going on and on…only about my food; no one else. First of all, it was definitely not a huge portion (wouldn’t matter if it was—totally my business) and secondly everyone else had huge platters including her with tacos, burritos, enchiladas with rice, beans, etc. She has been my office assistant since June and we both have shared a lot about our personal lives (we work in my office together 6 hours a week) so she knows some of my weight/ food history and is even the person who connected me with the personal trainer. Well her comments left me feeling awful…I did end up only eating a third of it and bringing it home because she was watching every bite I took (it was sooo odd); it was really upsetting, embarrassing and bizarre!!! Still not sure what I’m going to say to her if anything…
