I made sour cream!! I made sour cream!! The recipe (method) I followed was: - 1:1 ratio … 1 cup heavy cream to 1 tsp lemon juice into a pint jar (or leftover pickle jar you’ve saved) - Stir, lid on the jar, shake shake shake - Overnight in the fridge Soooo, it wasn’t as thick as I wanted. Think, think, think … well, the sour cream I normally buy has active and live cultures. So, I stirred in 1 tsp of leftover whey from yogurt making and left the jar on the counter for a few hours (then back into the fridge). Taaaaa-daaaaaaa!! Thicker sour cream. If you don’t have leftover whey from making yogurt, try using the liquid on top of yogurt, sour cream, or cottage cheese (you know that liquid we all stir back in?). #homemade #sourcream #ingredientsubstitutions #madscientist #nowidonothavetogotothestore
