The first food hack I ever learned was batch cooking ground meat. This was way before “meal prepping”was a thing. As a young child I regularly witnessed my parents preparing this delicious ingredient that was sometimes a meal on its own but always ready to add into other dishes which made it super simple to have a warm and hearty meal ready after a busy day! If you find meal prepping difficult to do and often find yourself scrambling for something to eat, I would highly recommend getting into the habit of preparing a few pounds of ground meat and keeping it in the freezer for a rainy day (or every day). It helps not feeling like I failed. Make a taco salad, mix it with hearts of palm Noodles for a bolognese, chili, scrambled with eggs… the recipes are endless! I like to season it with just salt, allspic, red pepper, after sauted with onions. As a base, you can later add any flavor you want for a quick meal! I realize this is a simple idea but as I’m making a new batch this morning I wanted to share with you in case you have been feeling discouraged or simply need a reminder! Wishing you a beautiful day!
