Happy Thanksgiving, All! I had the fun of cooking *all the things* for everyone who isn’t me. I mostly behaved myself today. The main course, turkey, is ate with butter to offset how lean it is. Plus butter is delicious. My kid *loves* green bean casserole (and especially the crispy onions on top), but I pulled aside some green beans with sautéed onion & mushrooms for my mom (who is gluten-free). There was bacon grease involved, and I had a small amount of the not-casserole green beans. They were fine. I had several deviled egg halves. I use avocado oil mayo, Wickles relish (*so* worth adding a carb per egg), and Blue Crab Bay seasoning. Nothing to regret there! At the end of the meal, I splurged and ate one solitary cranberry from the sauce. One. I love cranberries. It was disappointing. When I was putting away the sweet potatoes (butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, dry sherry, salt - no added sugar in any form), I decided to lick the scraped-off spoon. That was not disappointing - why do people load the sugar into sweet potatoes, anyhow? Just butter, sherry, and seasonings… so nice. I made but did not have stuffing (regular & gluten-free), mashed potatoes, gravy. I refused to make desserts, but bought a few mini-pies for the husband and the kid. I had a glass of wine and it was yummy. I might have a little more. Yes, I know about alcohol and low-carb…
