#cinnamontea @olga24 @Carrie E. @DoctorLaura Kind of a new post with a side of repost! A few days ago I posted a picture of the hot cinnamon tea that I brewed (and thoroughly enjoyed) thanks to a post by Carrie. The next afternoon I thought, well it was really good hot but what about iced?….Oh.My.Goodness. It was even better iced! I have a new drink that works for all occasions now! I’ve had a couple of questions as to how *I* made mine and I’ll add that here but there are TONS of websites about making cinnamon tea with lots of variations so I’ll leave that rabbit hole (search “cinnamon tea”) for you to travel down if you want. Transparently, there are some warnings about drinking or using too much cinnamon/cinnamon tea due to the amount of coumarin in it and its potential toxicity to the liver. Is that a real thing? 🤷‍♀️ How much is TOO much? 🤷‍♀️ @DoctorLaura Any thoughts on this? 😬 How I made it? Since I did not have a regular or electric tea kettle I used a 2.5 qt saucepan to boil water. Once it was boiling I broke 3 cinnamon sticks in half and put them in the water, brought it back up to a boil and turned it off with the lid on. Steeped it for awhile (probably 30 min mostly cuz I forgot about it!) Voila, done! Easy peasy. Once it cooled off I put the leftover in two-1 qt bottles, put the cinnamon sticks in and then filled the bottles back up with boiling water. I stored them in the fridge and have either poured what I wanted over ice or into a mug to heat up in the microwave. The amount of cinnamon sticks can be adjusted to your taste, how long you want to steep it & how much you want to make at once. Even several days later I’m still so grateful to Carrie for sharing this! It’s been a big deal & a game changer for me! ❤️❤️❤️
