What about hemp seeds as a rice and/or grits alternative? I'm not a fan of cauliflower rice (I've probably said that 50 times in the 2 months I've been on here π.) I hjave palmini rice on order but I saw a recipe for shrimp and grits using shelled hemp hearts and it looked intriguing. I've seen a couple of recipes using it as a wild rice like alternative also. I looked in the app and didn't see it under rice and pasta alternatives. I'm just wondering if there are any pitfalls, warnings or concerns with this. The ingredients seem pure (just the seeds, no other additives) but the nutrition label seems off on carbs. One g carb, 1 g fiber and 1 g sugar (shouldnt that mean 2 g carbs? maybe I'm missing something.) The calorie count is high so quantity should be watched. But I'm thinking shrimp and "grits" for dinner tonight and wondering if anyone else has experience with 1this.
