Hello Friends, I'm just starting on this journey. Mine is a somewhat peculiar situation in that I do not need to lose weight. Been overweight all my life and had WLS back in August 2015. I was diagnosed with type 1.5 (Latent Autoimmune Diabetes Adults) approx 4 years ago. I am insulin pump dependent and had to start a completely new lifestyle of very high and very low blood sugars. I am trying or should I safe half-baked trying to stop sugar and flour for the better part of my existence here on earth. Been in many weight loss programs including 12-step food programs (the meal plan was very much just like Keto). Been successful at times and not so successful at other times. I am getting to a point in my age of 61 now where I am finally starting to wake to the reality of serious health issues including heart disease loss of eyesight, kidney function loss, and all of the horrible things that happen as a result of my inability to put a stop to the nonsense of eating as I do. I would love to hear from you about just how to start (AGAIN) or should I say STOP the insanity of eating the crap I do. I make excuses like "Well my sugar is low better to eat some candy", instead of making a better choice or getting to a place of even blood sugars. Thanks for reading and I really look forward to hearing any sound advice since my way ain't working. I will say I'm impressed with what I've seen so far working with Dr. Tro and his team. We are in the middle of all the testing and I should hear where I stand healthwise after all the labs and workups I am having in the coming several weeks. Best to all of you!
