Is there anyone who does find this diet restrictive and how do you manage those emotions? I’m recovering from a traumatic brain injury which contribute to my depression and anxiety (I had prior to my TBI but it’s made it worse). Eating keto definitely improves my mood and cognitive function. I also have gut issues which make processing carbs more inflammatory for me. The problem seems to be sticking to it though…I’m not naturally drawn to this way of eating. My life was turned upside down 18 months ago from the car accident which caused my brain injury. I don’t have the same structure & work in my life I used to. I really struggle with emotional eating too even though I have no weight to lose. I guess it’s harder for me to stick with the diet because it’s all internal and I’m in great shape without being keto. But there are great benefits besides weight loss! How do you manage yourself when you struggle with depression or “what’s the point” thoughts. White knuckling it is not working for me.
