What do you have for an emergency help plan related to eating? I ask because, in the spirit of @Amy Eiges’s posting about struggles… It’s been a week! For the second time in the 10 months of low carb living, I ate significantly more than 30g of carbs. And I had binge behavior with Keto treats and ate full on regular pizza. It started with lots of stress at work combined with Vermont’s flooding which wrecked havoc on the internet connection. I work remotely, so this was a big hurdle. All week I didn’t connect with my Tro Tribe peeps (except for attending small group). I started planning my eating escapades on Tuesday and then totally let loose on Friday right after my client presentation was over. The weird thing was that, despite getting high praise from my VPs and the client’s C-suite folks and saving the account, I reacted to the release of pressure by inhaling harmful food… in the car! It was old behaviors and it wasn’t satisfying in the moment and the food hangover has been horrible. I need a solid step-by-step plan written out for when I start experiencing the red flags. When I was a postpartum doula, I always had my new parent clients write and post in a prominent place a “put down plan” for when the inevitable overwhelm and sleep exhaustion met with a screaming baby they had a plan for a safe place to put down the baby and specific steps to soothe their own nervous system before reengaging. Tomorrow I will write out my “put down (the food)” plan and the red flag 🚩 warning signs. So curious to hear what others have for a food “put down” plan.
