Yesterday we spent a nice day in town seeing lots of old friends as well as meeting new ones. It was a day of celebration, lots of food, fun and things to do. Of course one of the things I noticed was the line of almost 100 people waiting to get their fried dough sprinkled with powdered sugar, also known as "zeppoles." In the past I would have been one of those on the line. I couldn't help but think are those folks really into tradition that much or just the combination of this "food" & its addictive nature? Had me 🤔 if I had a food vendor booth there, but instead made the "zeppoles" out of Fathead dough, fried it in good "healthy" oil & sprinkled it with swerve confectioners "sugar" would I have had a line of 100 people and/or would people know the difference...would it satisfy their "cravings." Something to think about.
