What surprising thing have you picked up during your quest to #ThriveInJuly? Post below and let me know. How am I going to #ThriveInJuly? By keeping it honest... I started out last month with a goal of running 2 miles a day and had been doing great, but the universe decided it had other plans for me, and by the end of June I was left with a painful back injury. After feeling badly for myself for a few days, and sinking into a vortex of panic about weight gain and feeling like my body had betrayed me, yet again, I realized my only choice was to test my own mettle. This month my goal is to walk because it does not hurt my body to do so, and as I start to feel better and better, I have begun to incorporate core-strengthening exercises and gentle stretches to prevent this from happening again. There was a lesson here that I needed to learn. I'm not 100% sure what it is. To appreciate my good health? To take care of my body better and rest/stretch/strengthen it? To appreciate that running is a privilege I've worked hard for? That maybe it's time to clean up some lingering food-relationship issues? Messages all heard and received..
