I’m going to post this on this message board so it gets a little more visibility. I’m interested in seeing the feedback from folks! Has anyone seen/watched the new (at least I think it’s new) “excitement” on YouTube about carnivore mashed “potatoes & potato salad?” I first saw a video about it on Indigo Nili’s channel. Honestly, hers was underwhelming mostly because I felt like it was more of a fail. BUT she didn’t post a recipe because she wanted to direct traffic to the actual creator’s channel. Curiosity got the best of me so I went and watched the mashed “potatoes” and the “potato” salad videos. I’ll post a link to Chris Cooking Nashville’s YouTube channel below which is who created this recipe. I have a few thoughts about it and wondered what others impressions were, especially the adventurous cooks in the group. 1) Seems like a lot of work (although Chris says it’s not really) and I’m generally lazy when it comes to making replacement foods. The simplicity of low carb, keto, NSNG is where, I believe, my success is rooted. 2) I also wonder if supposedly replicating something like mashed potatoes, carnivore or not, might mess with cravings for the real thing and cause more havoc. This is NOT mashed cauliflower and I like mashed cauliflower but even with that I tend to eat more of it than I would just straight whole pieces of cauliflower. Thus I don’t make it much (also see #1 me=lazy part.) 3) My mindset FOR MYSELF has always been to do my best to get to a point of eating whole (mostly single ingredient) foods with as few replacements as possible unless it’s to keep me from jumping off that low carb cliff. What say all of you? Good idea? Bad idea? Replace everything you can? Replacements are a slippery slope? Just eat the real thing? If you’ve tried it is it worth it? Don’t bother!? All feedback welcome & encouraged! **Vinnie Tortorich refers to LIL, life into living, moments. The replacements are not that. An LIL would be a once in a blue moon special indulgence that you DECIDE to do.** https://youtube.com/@ChrisCookingNashville
