Another half marathon in the books, down to 10:28 mile pace. A year ago at 262 lbs I couldn’t walk a mile, now looking to go under 2 hour half marathon next race in July. Here’s how I did it: 1. I don’t eat after 6 P.M. 2. I don’t eat before noon. 3. HIIT workouts instead of running (it’s counter intuitive, but I learned that running 5 days a week just made me a more efficient calorie burner. Kettle bell squats, dips, planks, 400 repeats etc. to achieve the excess post oxygen consumption or oxygen debt. 4. I eat more than 200 grams of protein a day/50 grams of carbs. 5.Avoid added sugars, seed oils, and grains, HFCS in sodas, alcohol (save for much deserved post half marathon beer!) 6. Vital Farms eggs, Zeal farms milk mixed with chia seed and honey (yum), Oykos Pro 20 grams protein yogurt, Kefir, grass fed beef, preferably filets. Goal: NYC/Boston Marathon/Ironman within 3 years.
