Hi! I’m Colleen. I am 61, live in Florida and recently went back to work at a 9-5 job. I went carnivore a year ago and it put my autoimmune disease into remission and I felt well enough to work. I lost 40lbs but plateaued around November. I don’t cheat on Carnivore. It’s just not worth it. My daughter and I signed up to run the Army Ten Miler in DC in October. We are both Army veterans. I’m usually a 5K runner so it’s quite a challenge for me. I ran a 10K last month but want to build the distance slowly so I stay healthy. I don’t typically do any running between races- just walk my dog, but that won’t cut it for a 10 miler. Goals: Lose this lingering 20-30#, get back to strength training, and fine-tune my Carnivore journey so I can stay healthy. Advice to newbies: don’t worry about what everyone else does- do what works for you. When you cheat- you are cheating yourself. Don’t cheat. Also- no alcohol. It’s counterproductive and will not help you achieve your goals. Move every day. Do what you can, when you can. It will eventually become a habit and you will love it. Sleep. Go to bed early- wake up early. Keep it simple in the kitchen. Don’t get caught up in recipes and ingredients. Get an air fryer. Buy meat. Put the meat in the air fryer. Cook it and eat it. Simple. Meal prep especially if you work. I always have hard boiled eggs, tuna, sardines. Water and electrolytes are important. Drink water.
