I did a bit of bio hacking yesterday. 18 hours into a 24 fast, I decided to hike almost 11 miles on the at from Pine Grove furnace to rt 94 near mt. holly, pa. I did it in 4 hours and thirty minutes. What I wanted to know was that being fat adapted did it cause me to reach into my fat for energy. And it surely did. I had abundant energy not as a surge but one of endurance. I never once became exhausted or faint. Hunger never was an issue. Did get hungry, yes, from time to time, but it left me if I had a little water or just after a time while hike. I listen to a case against sugar again while hiking.. When I got home, I had 2 eggs and a little steak. 7oz. Maybe. I'll add this when I hit the end of the trail. I walked to town 2.65 miles, and I never felt tired, but it felt great sitting down. while there, I had a jack links 3 or 4 pork rinds waiting for my ride. But I got up this morning and lost only half a lb. But my stomach is flatter. Is this evidence that exercise has limited value in weight loss? Any ideas why I only lost .5 lbs?
