I’ve learned so much from using a CGM. At the start of the year, I decided to try stepping up my physical activity. In addition to my daily 3-4 mile dog walks (a requirement for Otto), I’d also do 20 minutes of high-intensity interval training (HIIT). What I found is that my usual morning blood glucose peak would be sharply knocked down by the HIIT—and then it would settle in at a lower average for the rest of the day. Where I had been seeing patterns with a peak in the 90s and averaging in the mid-80s, I’m now seeing a peak in the 80s and an average in the mid-70s.
