I listened to the Low Carb MD podcast on my way to work yesterday. It was episode 250 with Robert Sikes. I heard the following which resonated with me do i mich i relistened to it this morning. The thing that struck me was that in a caloric deficit you have to have enough energy to train hard and enough hormone health to train hard is one of the best things to preserve muscle tissue so continuing to train hard hard and demand your muscles be used in the contextual of a calorie deficit is one of the beat ways to maintain muscle mass. I love this because I can use it as a guide when training. If I have multiple workouts where I'm not feeling the best or am noticing atrophy, I know I have to check my fat intake and ensure I am still fat adapted. Aka getting enough energy to support my activities. I also have a teen son who is built like a distance runner. I recommended this podcast to help him try and bulk safety. I believe in learning from others' experiences and hope Sikes experiences can help my son. #newme23
