#newme23 Well, in the aftermath of yesterday’s “great donut debacle,” I was sick the rest of the day and all night, too. I didn’t feel all that great when I got up this morning, either! But I got up and launched myself into my regular morning routine. I weighed myself, as I do every day, and discovered that I was up 3.1 lbs from the same time yesterday. It helps me to know that I did NOT gain 3.1 lbs of body fat overnight. It’s fluid retention and inflammation from the insult I dealt my poor body by ingesting a bolus of unaccustomed carbs and products to which I am intolerant! So I’m drinking lots of water today, eating plenty of protein and making sure to supplement with electrolytes. I also reminded myself that I did not undo all my years of hard work with one, admittedly terrible, food choice! I also did my push-ups, as part of working myself back into my full body weight resistance training routine. I’m up to 12 now. When I can do 20, I’ll start adding back more exercises. Then I went out for my walk. It was raining, but I can’t let a bit of rain get in the way of keeping my commitment to myself. I do draw the line at snow and ice, because a hip fracture would really slow my roll! 🤣 I didn’t feel like cooking anything today, so I put together this meat and cheese plate, with some tiny carrots, a few celery sticks and some sugar free pickles. I have some G. Hughes low carb bbq sauce for dipping fun!
