Hello, I’ve just joined this community, after being inspired by Dr Tro, Amy and Brian on Twitter. I have been trying to adopt a keto/low-carb way of eating for the past year, but keep starting and stopping. I’m hoping to adopt it more sustainably this year. I really enjoy this way of eating, but I’m a sugar addict, and I find it really difficult to stay away from foods I know are doing me harm. I often feel that my mind/appetite is waging war against my poor, besieged body. That seems very melodramatic when I see it written down, but it’s absolutely how I feel! I’ve been overweight for most of my life and have tried every diet program available here in the UK (counting calories, fat grams, points and syns!), but none has worked for more than a few months. Initial enthusiasm always gives way to disillusionment as I regain. Anyway, I have made a promise to myself to persevere with low-carb eating this year, and to prioritise my health. I’m currently feeling quite confident and motivated, and looking forward to finding out everything this community offers!
