It happened again, this is a good lesson for anyone new that needs to learn to order 2-3x what you think is normal. So tonight me and my wife went out to eat and by the time we got to the restaurant I was pretty hungry, They had a two can dine dinner which was a 16oz porterhouse and 6oz filet with 4 sides. I ordered this for just myself because I knew it’s been a stressful week, I was busy today and all I wanted to do was have a nice relaxing meal. The waiter looks at me with a smirk and says…sir that’s for two people, it’s a lot of food…I tell him, I know, then order my beanless chili, Cesar salad, and asparagus….I let my wife have the 4th side (a house salad) 😅 After we were done he said “I didn’t think you’d be able to eat all that” Not sure why, I didn’t think it was that impressive, especially after some of the dinners Ive had with my N.Y family. The lesson is never underestimate your hunger and what it’s going to take to fill you up, you don’t have to eat it all but make sure you have enough, if there is some leftover then take them for another time, don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself and worry about what the waiter or others at the table think, none of those people have to deal with the reasons you do for starting this journey, do what it takes to make it though that moment, that’s what I did tonight I and I have no shame or guilt about what I ordered.
