I received back my quarterly blood results today. I've highlighted some of the results that demonstrate the excellent progress I am making. The data doesn't lie. Metabolic Progress Report: April 22, 2026 Current Status: Down 141 lbs (Starting Weight: 420 lbs | Current: 279 lbs) Approach: Therapeutic Carbohydrate Restriction (TCR), Daily Sauna (175°F), Resistance Training and Aerobic Exercise 3-4 days a week on average since my knee healed and I was able to discontinue use of a walking cane. Lipid Profile Context: My Total Cholesterol and LDL-C markers are currently elevated (266 and 199, respectively). These results are characteristic of a Lean Mass Hyper-Responder (LMHR) state. Because I am in a period of significant weight loss and utilizing fat as my primary fuel source, these numbers reflect the efficient mobilization and transport of energy through my system rather than a metabolic issue. Metabolic Health & Insulin Sensitivity: Fasting Insulin: 6.4 uIU/mL (The "gold standard" for metabolic health; confirms deep insulin sensitivity). Triglycerides: 79 mg/dL (Excellent; reflects the high efficiency of TCR). Triglyceride/HDL Ratio: 1.6 (A critical health marker; a ratio under 2.0 strongly correlates with healthy, large "Pattern A" LDL particle size). Fasting Glucose: 91 mg/dL (Stable and well-controlled). Organ Function & Nutrient Processing: Despite common misconceptions that therapeutic levels of protein and fat stress the body, my results show that my internal organs are thriving on a diet focused on red meat, chicken, fish, eggs, Greek yogurt, green vegetables and limited berries: Liver Health (Enzymes): My enzymes are at the low end of the range, showing a very lean and healthy liver. ALT: 10 U/L AST: 12 U/L Kidney Function & Protein Intake: My kidneys are filtering perfectly while processing high-quality proteins and nutrient-dense whole foods. eGFR: 96 (High-performance filtration level). Creatinine: 0.81 mg/dL. BUN: 21 mg/dL (Solidly within range). Electrolytes & Vitality: Electrolyte Balance: My Sodium, Potassium, and Chloride levels are spot-on. This confirms that my intake of minerals from red meat and green vegetables, combined with proper hydration, is perfectly supporting my intense sauna and gym routine. Vitamin D: 33 ng/mL (Maintaining a healthy, sufficient level). hs-CRP: 2.5 mg/L (Systemic inflammation is well-managed as my body continues its transformation). The Bottom Line: While a standard provider might look at the LDL and scream for a statin, the real data—insulin, liver enzymes, and kidney function—proves that Therapeutic Carbohydrate Restriction is working exactly as intended. My blood pressure has normalized after years of it being elevated and use of a prescription. I am not taking any medications now. I'm healthier at 279 lbs than I've been in a long time. I'm getting healthier week after week! Onward to 269 lbs!
