After watching Dr. Unwin's recent podcast with Jesse Chappus, I was saying to myself, "I can NEVER go back to an UPF/Sugar laden lifestyle." He's right when he says that food addiction is similar to drug and alcohol addiction. His personal and clinical experience shows that abstinence from a lifetime of poor nutrition is the only real solution to sustained metabolic recovery and remission. I can't afford to play on the edge of the UPF/Sugar snake pit anymore. It's not my "comfort food". It's my enemy. I've discovered that there's an abundance of healthy, nutrient-rich low-carbohydrate foods at my disposal. A food lifestyle which is facilitating health in my body at every level of my almost 69 year old self. I CANNOT go back to patting the rattlesnake on the head thinking it's my friend. Yesterday was a great day. I was happy to get back on the stationary bike and into the sauna. Macros were solid for me: Protein 166 g Net carbs 18 g Fat 86 g Lots of water. Sleep 7 hrs 23 minutes. Cheers! https://youtu.be/rl3z8MAwVXg?si=sxRn9HVMHn6H4nKE
