Serene Sunday! That describes my current state of being. I attended a private school benefit and auction dinner event last night. It was a lot of fun. It was nice to meet so many new people. You know, when you're in pain due to obesity like I was, it can really effect your social life on many levels. Last night I felt confident and stable on my feet, not winded from just walking into the building from the parking lot, no pain in my back or knee. I had complete control over my appetite, although some of the food offerings were certainly of the sort that I would have previously overindulged in. I settled on the tri-tip and chicken. When I first arrived at the table (I was early) within a few minutes a woman I recognized from my morning pool walking approached me and said, "Scott?" LOL. She had only ever seen me in the pool all wet in shorts 😅 and had no idea my daughter is a much-loved science and math teacher at the private school of which 3 of my grandchildren attend. One man, who hadn't seen me in a year or so, came up to me and told me I was looking "svelte". That was a word I had never had someone use to describe me as before. Anyways, I share these things to emphasize, that for me, a big part of the reasons I've been showing up day after day, stacking one brick after another, regaining my metabolic health, is precisely because of what I experienced last night. Have a blessed Sunday!
