Have a surprise trip or get-together sprung on you? Don’t panic. Before you go: Survey local restaurants, know where to go and what to get ahead of time, Tips: -Always ask to double up on non-starchy vegetables and protein instead of having bread or starch. -Most restaurants have steak, grilled chicken, or salads. -Use olive oil and vinegar as a dressing if possible. -Drink water instead of soda. (Diet Soda is not a bad option if you need it) Locate grocery stores for things to stock in the mini-fridge or grab-and-go things like: -Egg, chicken, or tuna salad -Chicken wings -Salad -Heat and serve bacon -yogurt -Cheese - Leftovers from restaurants or takeout. Along with a meal or two, it’s always a good idea to bring sealed things along like: -Almonds, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, walnuts, and other nuts -Nut butter packets -Jerky or pepperoni sticks - Protein bars & chips -Hard-boiled eggs -Cheese -Cooked bacon -Parmesan cheese crisps -Dark chocolate (85% cacao or higher) - Lilly’s Chocolate
