Last night: i had a mild urge to snack on something. A 3/10. No known trigger. Nothing emotional or habit going on. Not physically hungry. I had a decaf coffee with some vanilla flavored liquid stevia. I did a body scan--about 90 seconds. I sat with the bodily sensations. I processed the emotion. I used tools to calm my nervous system. (Breathing, reminding myself that I was safe, humming) The urge passed. I surfed the urge wave. πββοΈπ Upon reflection this morning. 2 of my sisters were having a discussion that brought up memories of family discord. So that was the anxiety. I wanted to soothe with food. The habit loop was activated. Yay me for using the decaf with sweetener and sitting with the feeling and watching the urge. WIN!!!
