I wanted to post about what I have learned in several weeks wearing a continuous glucose monitor. Strangely enough, the foods that I eat only cause minor changes, but high levels of stress cause elevations which take hours to come back down to baseline. I didn’t realize how high my glucose actually rose during these times. We read about how stress is bad for us, but if we experience it with a CGM on, we notice the effects on our bodies! This is a whole new level of learning for me as I have had a very stressful last year. It explains why my insulin has been very high! I must learn to manage my stress for my metabolic health as well as my emotional health.
