Good morning community! Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving early due to family in town. I cooked the meal which included the normal carb induced sides. My sister brought her sourdough starter and baked bread for two days. Now that it is behind me I reflected on my ability to make good choices. I had a forkful of cranberries, mashed potato, stuffing, green bean casserole,and squash. I somehow only ate a taste of crust from her breads. I was amazed that it was my only meal of the day and I stayed in the green zone on my meter (barely went over 150) to keep my two plus week streak of CGM results being in range intact. Reading everyone’s struggles on here helps me knowing I’m not alone with these struggles. One more temptation next Wednesday when we attend a holiday party…I’m committed to low-carb, so I’m ready!
