Good evening everyone. In August 2024 I had my first ever Dexascan. I was somewhat disappointed with the numbers, my body fat percentage was more than I hoped it would be considering I had lost and kept off 50+ lbs for five years. I was bummed for a few days, but then I decided to not let this discourage me, instead use it as motivation. This journey will never end, there will be tweaks here and there and bumps in the road but every minute is worth it. This past weekend I had another Dexascan at the same office. The scanner was new, it gave more details such as the amount of visceral fat not just the amount of fat in the abdomen. I was happy with that portion of the results but I was hoping the total body fat percentage to be lower than it was. it was decreased from the first one so I will take the win. The exercise/movement I have been doing is making a difference, I gained 1.8lbs of muscle, @Vic Basmadjian, @Amy Eiges, @Brian Wiley, thanks for your support and nudging. My total body weight was pretty much the same. So I know I am on the right track, just need to keeping moving forward. Doing some longer fasts (>24 hours) should to help reduce the insulin resistance. The next big challenge for me is not personal, it is to get my workplace interested in the metabolic health space. This isn't in my comfort zone at all, I will be happy to see an interest at this point then go from there. Wish me luck!
