Morning check in: Yesterday went well for me! I kept carbs below 30 - my current goal. I am keeping track of what I’m eating in Carb Manager - that practice is turning out to be super powerful for me (recording what I’m eating). For me, radical honesty is a must, and tracking my food is helping me with that. Today is two meals, protein for lunch, total carbs below 30 (not counting super low carb veggies like lettuce - I don’t track those). “Sensory Specific Satiety.!” I really appreciated learning about that, and have noticed the power. When you eat less variety, you will eat less food and you will be more likely to notice when you are full. For lunch lately I’ve been keeping it really “boring.” Something like 3 hard boiled eggs, and some cut veggies. I feel much less like getting more food out of the frig if I keep it boring than if I have a big variety of things for lunch. I’m fine with a boring lunch if that enhances my ability to stay on track for the day! For dinner, I like more flavor, but I’m still trying to have just two things at dinner, rather than more, even if the “more” is veggies. For instance today I’ll be making chicken parmeson for dinner with either roasted brussel sprouts or salad. If I made all three things, I would eat quite a bit more food! And now I know that is a real sciency thing! I love learning stuff like that. I’m sore from the gym, so will do something else like a bike ride for movement today.
