Wednesday, October 15 (Week 3) SUBJECT: Fasting: Medical Deep Dive & Handling The Bullies (Week 3) Welcome to Week 3 of your Fasting (No) Lunch group! During last week’s meeting we talked about ways to prepare for a successful fast and tips to make things easier. How is it going trying to stick to a 7-hour eating window? How challenging has it been to avoid snacking and sticking to big satiating meals? Does intermittent fasting slow your metabolism? Tomorrow, Dr. Laura Buchanan will do a deep dive lecture on the science of fasting.* We will also discuss hunger, the drive to eat, and how to protect yourself and your fasting protocol with satiating, nutritious foods. Understanding hunger is one of the foundations of our weight loss program and why we choose a low carb lifestyle. Hunger will always win out – it is no match for willpower. Addressing these drives to eat will make willpower much lower down on the list of things to be relied upon and help make your fasting journey much less of a struggle! In addition, we’ll review some strategies for handling social bullies and that insidious internal hunger bully while fasting. Before the meeting this week, give some thought to the things you are struggling with in regards to sticking to a shorter eating window or eliminating snacking. How might you make these things easier for yourself so you are not relying solely on willpower? If you are unsure, ask for ideas on the Fasting Accountability Message Board. #FastNoLunch See you tomorrow! The Toward Health Team *While they will be available to answer medical questions as they pertain to the science of fasting, please remember that even if Dr. Tro or Dr. Laura is your doctor, they are able to dispense individualized medical advice during the session. Always seek out the advice of your medical team before undertaking any fasting or nutritional protocols. Please note: If you are unable to attend any of the meetings, the videos will be posted on this message board each week. Please allow us a few days to get those uploaded. The message board is a great place to get additional support throughout the month, and make sure to read and review all of the articles and homework linked in these emails. https://community.doctortro.com/groups/triggerfree
