Sitting at an ice cream parlor, scrolling through this community chat/writing this post, as my husband and his visiting family eats their sugar desserts. I hear mumblings at the other end of the table, “why didn’t Nikki get anything?”, “oh she’s on that keto diet”, “did you know she only eats once a day, AND sometimes skips a day and doesn’t eat at all??” It’s mind boggling to them. But I am confident in my choices, and know that if I had any of these sugar desserts, I will feel like garbage tomorrow, and it’s just not worth it. Man, I -never- thought I’d be in this position, to be able to choose long term health and feeling well, over an instant gratification sugary moment.
