When I became an over-the-road commercial truck driver in 2009, the side mirrors on the trucks had emblems that said, G.O.A.L. GET OUT AND LOOK... This was a reminder to drivers to use extreme caution when navigating in and out of tight spaces. Especially when backing a 53' long trailer with a 17' long sleeper cab truck into a tight dock in the middle of the night, with a truck and trailer parked on both sides of the dock you're trying to pull into. I say all that as an analogy to my current transition into a ketogenic lifestyle. It's more than just cutting carbs, eliminating processed sugar, and ultra-processed foods for me. The process is as much mental for me as it is changing what I eat. I have to keep my guard up and discipline myself to GET OUT AND LOOK from time to time, because if I don't, I know exactly what will happen.
