Another week in the bank. Today marks the beginning of week 9 for me since entering the low-carb portal. It's nice to continue to create distance between when I decided to switch from a high-carbohydrate diet, and an excessive caloric way of eating, to a way of eating that in so many ways seems natural and fitting for me. 8 weeks is nothing to crow about, but as I continue planning the work and working the plan, I know the metabolic rewards to be reaped are tremendous. My body and mind are already thanking me for doing what needed to be done! I can honestly say in these past 8 weeks I've eliminated all processed sugar and ultra-processed foods. Dr. Bikman is fond of saying, "If it comes in a bag or a box and has a barcode on it, you're probably best to avoid it." 😆 My daily average of carbs has been 27g a day. I know this because for now, I track everything that goes into my mouth. So, I'm pretty sure I've been in a ketosis state, even without poking or pricking myself. I've dropped 50lbs as of this morning and my mind is clear of that brain fog I had for so long. I'm thankful I found this site as well!
