I began on Carnivore WOE on Jan 2, 2025. On that date I weighed 228.6 lbs and that wasn't the heaviest I had been in the 6 months previous. I'm 59 years old, 5' 9" tall and a Type 1 Diabetic. The most recent A1C I had was 8.3 in Nov 2024. That's significantly out of range and control. For T-1's the standard goal is < 7.0. Today, I'm 165 lbs with a BMI in the "normal/healthy" range and was severely obese 33.9 to 24.4. MORE IMPORTANTLY, my last A1C was 6.2. My main goal was to achieve and maintain diabetic healthy goals. Goal achieved so far. At 230ish lbs, I would have thought there was zero chance of getting to a weight of 170. Now, with still some pudginess, I'm looking a goal weight somewhere in the mid 150's. But again, weight loss is only a positive side affect of Carnivore WOE. My joints don't hurt waking up. ZERO gut and/or IBS issues. My skin is healthier than it's been since I was in my 20's. All blood panel results are within range except LDL and even that was only slightly elevated. And please don't listen to your GP Dr about cholesterol levels, My Endocrinologist is upset I quit taking statins. I asked her "what can you do for me when I have Alzheimers because of statins? I can survive a heart attack even if your failed hypothosis is true about elevated LDLs and heart disease is true". And it's not. I'm not 100% strict today, but early on, I was solidly Carnivore for at least 5 weeks, pretty strict. After eliminating everything except protein and saturated fats out of my diet, reintroducing non carb veggies was easy for me to do. I do not eat them for nutrition now, but only as variety to what I'm eating. I wish everyone here the best on your journeys.
