As I head into my 7th week of this keto-carnivore approach, I thought I'd share a few personal observations. 1. The transition to a low(er)-carb diet was easier than I thought it would be. The average is right at 30g a day. 2. Cutting out all ultra-processed foods and added sugars was easier than I expected it to be as well. 3. Eating red meat, chicken, fish, eggs, with added butter, avocado, and other low-glycemic fruits (very limited fruit) keeps me very satiated. To the point where my appetite, while under control, limits my actual consumption of food. 4. This diet also makes intermittent fasting very easy to do now. 5. My blood pressure has normalized to the point where I'm hoping to get off the medication I'm on sooner rather than later. 6. My skin color has improved quite a bit, at least that's what my wife of 47 years told me yesterday 😅 7. Yes, I've dropped a lot of weight. This way of eating has seemed to be a key that has unlocked a door for me metabolically. My knee injury is healing as I take the weight off. 8. My sleep has been somewhat disrupted in the sense that when I was living on a very high-carbohydrate sugar diet, it turned me into a sleeping zombie. In addition, as a 68-year-old man drinking twice the amount of water per day as I used to, well, you know what happens with a bladder that can't hold what it used to. In closing, this is a pretty cool site, and I wish more people would share their experiences. Cheers!
