June 5 Thursday Hunter (my son) and I get to go to Lubbock today pick up his meds. Lubbock is about 2 hours away. We will go to Long John Silver’s for lunch before coming back. Hunter loves LJS. We are getting one here!! Anyway, they have grilled salmon. Isn’t that fab? B proffee L grilled salmon, green beans D liver, roasted veg. I am in another membership. One of the coaches shared her technique for grounding to soothe her nervous system, It is helpful. G – Get movement Move gently. Stretch your arms, wiggle your fingers, or press your feet into the floor to reconnect with physical sensation. R – Reflect on your senses Name 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you can hear, 2 you can smell, and 1 you can taste. Anchor yourself in the now. O – Observe your breath Take slow, conscious breaths. Inhale deeply through your nose, exhale slowly through your mouth. Feel your breath grounding you. U – Use your environment Touch a textured object, sip cool water, hold a grounding stone — use something tangible in your surroundings to center yourself. N – Name your emotions Label what you’re feeling without judgment: “I feel anxious,” “I feel overwhelmed.” Naming can defuse emotional intensity. D – Direct your attention Focus fully on one small task or detail — listen to a single sound, trace a pattern, or watch a leaf move in the wind. Have a good one! 🌻
