People ask me why I have been so critical of the CDC and the FDA over the past 2 years. The truth is, I have been critical of them over their past 70 years worth of policy If you follow nutritional policy, drug approval regulations, drug extender approvals, and know just a little about the history of the FDA/CDC (Tuskegee, 1976 Swine flu vaccine)... you realize two things 1) its extremely hard to be correct in public policy 2) it often neglects the individual I believe there are many good people working in these organizations, but I truly believe that they have fundamental flaws when it comes to precision/individualized medicine. Take this for example, this is their recommendation for diabetes and carb counting, this is the CDC. I'm sure if probed the nutrition team at the CDC would say we are talking about "whole plants with lots of fiber." But the reality is more insidious and I think we all know it. If the CDC can't get diabetes right, its that much harder for me to trust them with monkeypox. Sorry for the Wednesday morning rant.
