June 2 Monday Great talk this morning with @Sara Hardesty. My accountability buddy. We are reading, “The Hunger Habit” together. The question to ask. “Am I still hungry” or “Have I had enough”. This is really important. It creates the pause needed to assess satiety Then (& this blew my mind) respond if not sure with, “let’s stop eating and find out.” Curious, compassionate. I never thought of the response. Way to ping pong with my brain So 1) food plan in the morning. This takes care of decision fatigue 2) daily mantra. For me, “I am becoming a woman who does not use food to soothe her emotions” 3) body check ins throughout the day to see how I feel. Nervous, tense, open, relaxed 4) halfway through the meal, ask “am I still hungry”. If not sure, then play around with “let’s stop eating and find out” Not shooting for 100% or A+. That does not work. 80% is good enough. I am supposed to Make mistakes. This is how I learn and how I tweak things Curiosity and compassion for the win. I love this thought— “let’s stop ____ and find out” Thanks, Sara. 🌻
