Good morning☕️☕️ Great Monday morning with Vic I had an interesting thought come to mind. For other people, their mindfulness practice involves meditation. For me, in order to be healthy, my mindfulness practice involves my eating habits This is my plan. It takes effort. When I am calm, it is easier. It will get easier to do this process with practice. 1) check in with my body and ask the question—Why is it that I want to eat right now at this moment? (Thanks to Sara Hardesty for coming up with this question). 2) internal body scan—do I feel tense or relaxed? If tense, can I take a few deep breaths? 3) look at the food in the plate. Can I enjoy the visual, the smells, the effort that went into creating my meal? (Gratitude) 4) (this is hard for me). SLOW down, enjoy each bite, chew thoroughly, taste the food, explore the textures 5) check in with my body and notice if I have had enough. Am I satisfied? If so—STOP eating. (Another hard thing). When I stop, notice the thoughts that my brain throws up (and there are many) So this is my mindfulness practice. It will be lifelong. Other call their mindfulness practice meditation Can anyone else relate to this? Would you like to discuss? What are your mindfulness practices with food/eating? Thanks for letting me share Have a good one 🌻
