Are you a “Get It Done” kind of person like me? I am constantly in motion from the moment I wake up at 4am until I lay down to go to sleep around 10:30pm. I GO, GO, GO from morning til night & I definitely discount the need for rest, self-care, and quiet time. I work 40 hours a week, I go to the gym 10-12hours a week, I volunteer at church and work a second job for 5 to 10 hours a week and there isn’t much time for resting. Even when I am given an hour lunch & two 15 minute breaks during my workday I am constantly trying to squeeze in a one more thing-like throwing in a load of laundry, doing some dishes, or taking out the garbage! UGH! 🛑✋🏻🛑✋🏻🛑✋🏻 This week I’m gonna try something different. My plan for self-care this week is to try and rest on my 2 work breaks and my lunch hour. I am going to put on some music and be “STILL” for two or three minutes. I’m going to close my eyes for five minutes and “REST” & for the last seven minutes of my break, I’m going to be “QUIET” and read. I think NOT being in constant motion/stress is going to help a lot. I will keep you posted. I hope this gives you some food for thought if you too are a “Get It Done” kind of person like me!
