Had 2/3 medium avocado, 1 egg, 1 bacon for breakfast. Forgot to take a photo. Always a good meal. I haven’t really been fasting but my family had dinner around 9, and we did not eat ‘breakfast’ until noon, though I did have coffee around 9:30, so about at 12 hr eating window. 45 min after breakfast my blood glucose is at 92 which seems good to me. I had high blood glucose (128) yesterday morning after having coffee with half and half and after having one glass of champagne at midnight. I was not sure if it was the wine or the coffee or some combo so re-did glucose this morning after waking up and then after having coffee with half and half. Fasting glucose was 95, but 45 min after having my coffee it was at 106, but went back down to 96 at 90 min. Looks like I’m going to have to go to black coffee, but I really can’t stand the taste- might have to switch to tea. I guess one of my new year resolutions is going to cut out all dairy - that spike was higher than expected from just a little half and half in my coffee, and I have been gaining weight the last 3 months and want to try to get back in control. I had really poor sleep, high stress, and more slip ups the last 3 months after starting a new teaching job than in a long time. Hopefully the new quarter, a new class to teach, and resolving to not have dairy in addition to my original resolution to get back into a good sleep, exercise, and work-life balance routine will make this a better year. #thrivein25
