I went out to eat w/friends last night and they picked the Schnitzel Haus, a German restaurant. I planned my meal before I got there. My old self used to order pork schnitzel w/ sweet red cabbage, spaetzles, and hot German potato salad, but I planned differently this time. I was surprised to find an appetizer of fresh fried pork belly cracklings on the menu served on a bed of cabbage, onions, & pickled w/aioli sauce which fit my KETO life. I ate most of that & then ordered my pork schnitzel w/ a side salad, green beans, & Keto dumplings that I made from scratch & brought from home, I also my low carb biscuits which helped me avoid the delicious sour dough bread they serve. Thanks to this community & Dr. Tro for helping me to know that I needed a PLAN to execute that would keep me ON track for my health goals. It saved me from going off plan & ALL the misery that goes w/it. It was a WIN WIN WIN. (I included the spaetzle recipe that I found online.)
