After my brain surgery (October 2020), the temporary steroids caused extraordinarily high blood glucose readings. It was great having a CGM, as the nurses began to rely on it instead of sticking me. Tro advised me to eat eggs instead of the hospital food, so my sister-in-law Melissa boiled a pot of them and hubby brought them to me (COVID days). When I got home I was very, very strict about carb consumption. Lovely Melissa also made me a huge kettle of fresh chicken soup. I continued to eat the boiled eggs, but sliced them into a mug of Trader Joe's Miso Broth with some green onions. Chicken soup, broth and eggs... my blood glucose normalized lickety-split, and although I didn't measure, as brilliant as my brain felt, I believe I was in ketosis. I've recently started working part time as a shopper at a local grocery store, partly because it would force me to walk briskly for a few hours a few days per week. With the time crunch I've again started having the eggs and broth (+ green onions) for breakfast. Good stuff!
