I started off planning to make this a post about what I made myself for my first meal of the day š. I was going to cook it, eat it & then post the pics I took when I was finished and cleaned up. So I sat down and decided to turn on this weekās Tuesday Night Live while I ate since I had missed attending the meeting. As I was watching, my purpose of posting changed so I could update anyone interested in a product that was highlighted on that live BUT sadly is no longer available at all. Cauliāflour Foods closed up shop toward the end of 2023. I wondered a while back when I saw their entire line at Grocery Outlet at a very discounted price. The story is available on Google but basically it was the tale of a CEO that became successful, handed control over to someone else who went in a direction not consistent with the ideals she started the company with in the first place so she ended it. Thatās pretty much it in a nutshell! Now for the good news! I originally wanted to make this post to show you a product that I found in my daughterās freezer & had forgotten that we bought awhile back. Outer Aisle is a good brand with clean & delish products. I used one today to make a tostada version. I put some avocado oil in a skillet, heated it up until there were crispy edges on both sides, added cheese, meat, sour cream, lettuce & salsa. It was an Eat-it-with-a-Fork kind of tostada but still a clean, yummy low-carb creation. š If you compare the ingredient lists on the Cauliāflour pizza crust & the Outer Aisle they are verrrrrrry similar so there you have it, a replacement for the replacement! Weāve used these in a pizza oven & they came out great.. They make different versions (sandwich thins to use as a bun, pizza/wraps) and often they are at Costco, Sprouts & Whole Foods plus some grocery stores. ALSO, Trader Joeās sells their own version. Just be sure to always check ingredient lists! As @Amy Eiges said on Tuesday, the food companies are smart. Even the best most trusted brands will bait & switch sometimes. I look at the ingredient list first and then the nutritional label. Always in that order! Hope this helps somebody! š
