Hello everyone. Checking in from Montgomery Texas. I have two things on my mind, first is Lipedema Standards of Care for USA and second is school curriculum and syllabus for teaching subjects Health and PE, Nutrition Science to school age children and to teacher educators. I’m looking at what teachers have in their curriculum and how they integrate information about fats, protein and carbohydrates and explain how people become obese or develop type 2 diabetes… Separate to the topic of sport science I’m looking at topics of wellness and mental wellbeing in curriculum across disciplines … it starts in pre-k, childcare actually child care providers and educators present information about food choices and can drop well intentioned ideas about low fat, high fibre, overweight, obese people and when school starts children are being taught about cholesterol and making food choices for energy and brain development. I’ve noticed a lot of teachers including sport and physical education teachers are in the overweight and obese category. When I look at early childhood educators child care programs many of the staff are overweight. This is an issue.
