It’s been a rough month. For the first half of May, my blood glucose was inexplicably higher than usual. Not a lot, but noticeable still. Then, 2½ weeks ago, I got suddenly knocked flat with a sinus infection. This is a spring allergy tradition that I’d hoped to skip, but I got my antibiotics and started to get better. At the start of the antibiotics, while almost fasting and definitely no-carb, my glucose was in the upper-140s. So weird. Right at the end of the antibiotics, my kid managed to give me his horrible cold/bronchitis. I rate this 1 out of 10 (and that is only because it still could be worse) - do not recommend. The coughing has kept me from sleeping for soooo long. I got desperate enough to even try a few cough drops (not the sugar-free ones; I don’t do sugars alcohols), which was interesting to see hit my cgm. Also, unhelpful. During this time I was sorting some stuff and came across bloodwork from ~10 years ago that included both fasting glucose and fasting insulin. The insulin was checked but never discussed, and holy crap was it high! I have decided that (according to the insulin-centric theory of things) I should definitely consider myself T2 diabetic.
