On the last Sunday of the month during the warmer months (generally April through October), our church has a "Meat & Greet" fellowship lunch after the service. There's a potluck aspect for side dishes with a BYOM (bring your own meat) approach for main course (and the church provides hot dogs for those who are unprepared). There is a large gas grill, and a couple of the deacons are the grillmasters. This past Sunday was the first Meat & Greet of the year, and I was determined to be prepared. I went with steaks that were pre-cooked via sous vide to perfect rare - ready (and quick!) to finish on the grill. Since the provided gear is paper plates and plastic cutlery, I had to be ready to deal with real meat. Did you know that you can get folding steak knives? They were as dull as spatulas when I bought them, but I fixed that. Add some personal-sized cutting boards, and we were in business. I neglected to get an action shot, but here's the gear:
