Salad Dressing: Hubby decided he wanted to eat more salads. His favorite dressing had been the Kraft-type Italian dressing. I would cringe inside thinking of the horrible seed oils in them. One day I made Good Seasons Italian dressing to see if he would like it, since at least I could use much better oil. He liked it. So I took it one step further. I found a Copycat Good Seasons Italian Dressing Mix recipe. As it happens, he likes it MUCH better than the junky stuff. It's now his favorite! RECIPE: Servings: 1/2 cup mix Author: Judith Hannemann INGREDIENTS 2 tbsp oregano 1 tbsp parsley 1 tbsp garlic powder 1 tbsp onion powder 1 tbsp sugar (I used powdered Swerve) 2 tbsp salt 1 tsp pepper 1 tsp basil 1/4 tsp thyme 1/4 tsp celery seed TO MAKE UP AS DRESSING 2 tbsp mix 1/4 cup vinegar 3 tbsp water 1/2 cup oil (I use EVOO) INSTRUCTIONS Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container. NOTES For "zesty" variety: add a pinch (scant 1/8 tsp) of red pepper flakes. Add more if you like it really zippy. For intensely garlic flavor: Add 1 tsp dehydrated minced garlic to the mix. The same amount of celery salt may be substituted for the seed, however, make sure to subtract 1/4 tsp of the salt called for in the recipe.
