Returning from our Aruba vacation today and wanted to share some NSV of this lifestyle (first time traveling by plane since the pandemic): —8 days away and successfully staying on plan —Not returning from vacation feeling ashamed, uncomfortable, bloated and concerned about getting back on track (because I never left my track lol) —Being willing to advocate for what I needed food-wise at restaurants while away; sounding quite like Meg Ryan in when “Harry Met Sally” (I’d like that plain please/no sauces, no rice—double vegetables, please take the bread basket away, no I don’t need to see the dessert tray, etc.) —With 50+ lb weight loss, I was able to fit very comfortably in an airplane seat with slack to spare and NO EXTENDER (reduced sooo much anticipated travel anxiety) —Able to walk down the aisle of the airplane facing forward without needing to turn sideways and feeling embarrassed bumping into everyone —Not having to worry about fitting in booths and all the chairs on vacation that had arms —Was able to have fun and be as active as I wanted to be without being out of breath or needing my husband’s assistance to stand up from pool lounge chairs or carry everything for me (although he did carry more than I did 😊) —-Looking at my passport picture and my picture from the airport today and feeling so grateful!
